Caribbean Cruise Vacation (9/25/14-10/6/14)
I recently went on a cruise with my family as a good-bye vacation for Laura. She leaves for her LDS mission to the Dominican Republic on October 22nd. We spent most of our vacation on or in the water. We spent most of our time snorkeling in Miami, Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay and went scuba diving in the Grand Cayman's and only hours after we got off the ship in Miami we went on an airboat ride in the Everglades and then in the evening, Chad, Dad and I went deep sea fishing off of South Beach Miami.

Car Crash!!
My brother, Aaron and I were 40 minutes from Rexburg when we hit a huge Elk and it destroyed the front end of my truck. A guy coming the opposite direction on the highway saw us hit it and he stopped to make sure we were ok and then he left. We were stranded 20 miles from any town and there was nobody in sight. The first thing my brother and I did was look at the damage, take some pictures and then we went looking for the Elk that we'd hit. It wasn't too far away. It was thrown 20-30 yards from the initial impact and was still breathing when we found it, however it died only a few minutes later. The Elk was full grown, weighing between 400 and 500 lbs. and had some huge antlers that were nearly 3 feet long. We waited in the truck for about an hour before the Sheriff was able to find us (we called the cops shortly after crashing). After the Sheriff arrived, we waited for another hour or so before the tow truck found us, then we waited another 30 minutes after the truck was loaded up on the tow truck, for my friends Brayden and Carlee to come get us. Our ETA, according to the GPS, was originally 9:30 and we crashed 10 minutes before 9. We didn't make it to Rexburg until midnight.

Current River 2011
We went on the traditional family canoe trip in July this year. It was nearly 100 degrees everyday, good thing for the cool spring water. We spent lots of time swimming in the river and I did my best to jump off of any tree or cliff that was possible. The last one I found was the best, about 20 feet high and I had to climb the rock wall to get to the top. It was pretty sweet! If only we could have gotten Alan to jump, Ha ha ha! After almost an hour waiting for him to go, we decided to move on down the river. Next year we're thinking about canoeing down another part of the river, which means new spots to jump from and new places to camp.
